Classic Canadian Travel and Exploration Book with Two Excellent  Maps

Actually written by Cheadle, this narrative describes an overland expedition across Canada from Quebec to British Columbia. Accurate descriptions and insights of the Cariboo Mines, the Rocky Mountains and Kamloops, British Columbia.   With its analysis of the prospects of the prairies and British Columbia, this book helped prepare the opinion in both Britain and Canada for ending Hudson’s Bay Company rule of the west. Its intelligent estimate of the value of the Yellow Head Pass and along the north branch of the Thompson River was vindicated by the route being chosen for the Grand Trunk Railroad.
